Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology which is concerned with interconnecting communicating objects installed at different locations in the world. It senses the information from different sensors and makes anything to join the Internet to exchange information. The irrigation system is maintained in several methods. The existing method used in the process is GSM module where the information can be sent and received through messages and calls. But the recording of video cannot be processed using GSM module. Thus, GSM module is overcome and IOT module is used where the video can de recorded and web camera is used to capture images. The captured image was compared with the healthy plant image by digital imaging process. When the temperature and water content are beyond the threshold level, the DC pump will be automatically ON. And, the leaves of the plant are monitored through web camera and the pesticide spray is used using another DC pump. The coding is processed using Ardiuno IDE software and it is dumped in the Ardiuno UNO. The information can also be monitored in the mobile using BLINK app. In future, these works can be maintained by automation using robots.
