    A smart city enables the effective utilization of resources and better quality of services to the citizens. To provide services such as air quality management, weather monitoring and automation of homes and buildings in a smart city, the basic parameters are temperature, humidity and CO2. This paper presents a customized design of an Internet of Things (IoT) enabled environment monitoring system to monitor temperature, humidity and CO2. In developed system, data is sent from the transmitter node to the receiver node. The data received at the receiver node is monitored and recorded in personal computer (PC) through a Graphical User Interface (GUI), made in visual basic. The results and the performance of the proposed system is discussed.

    This abstract studied the application of piezoelectric actuators for fixed form controlling of combination plate. Electro-mechanically coupled mathematical model is used for the analysis. The main part of this piece of writing focuses on the fixed shape control. It has been defined here as the shape controlling parameters, as well as actuation voltage and actuator orientation configuration, such that the structure that is activated. Exploitation of these parameters will decide as secure as probable to the preferred shape. A fixed aspect of design for shape control analysis of piezoelectric plastic-coated combination plate by using Ansys is described in this thesis. In the plastic-coated compound plate piezoelectric actuators and sensors are designed as supplementary layers either externally or entrenched. A definite component of software Ansys can be exploited to model and was successfully validated with experimental and numerical results that are readily available in the literatures. The present examination illustrates that the appliance of proper voltage to piezoelectric actuator, preferred form of the combined plate can be obtained.

    This paper presents the concept of Multi Hacksaw cutting Machine mainly carried out for production based industries. Industries are basically meant for Production of useful goods and services at low production cost, machinery cost and low inventory cost. Today in this world every task have been made quicker and fast due to technology advancement but this advancement also demands huge investments and expenditure, every industry desires to make high productivity rate maintaining the quality and standard of the product at low average cost. We have developed a conceptual model of a machine which would be capable of performing multi cutting operation simultaneously, and it should be economically efficient. The model facilitate us to get the operation performed at different working centre simultaneously as it is getting drive from single power source. Objective of this model are conservation of electricity (power supply), reduction in cost associated with power usage, increase in productivity, reduced floor space.

  4. Static analysis of crankshaft of a single cylinder petrol engineDownload Article

    A crankshaft is used to convert reciprocating motion of the piston into rotary motion. Crankshaft is one of the critical components of an IC engine. Failure of the crankshaft leads to a drastic disaster in IC engines. The load of cylinder gas pressure is transmitted to crankshaft through connecting rod. The dynamic load and rotating system exerts repeated bending and shear stress due to torsion, which are common stresses acting on crankshaft and mostly responsible for crankshaft fatigue failure. In this paper, static analysis of crankshaft for four stroke single cylinder petrol engine is carried out. Initially the crankshaft is designed and then 3D model of crankshaft was developed in CATIA. Based on analytical calculations, load acting on crankshaft is obtained. This model is then imported to ANSYS to perform static analysis to obtain the variation of stress magnitude at critical locations. Analysis is done by considering two materials and results are compared to select the best material.

    A new nose cones concept that promises a gain in performance over existing conventional nose cones is discussed in this paper the term nose cone is used to refer to the forward most section of a rocket, guided missile or aircraft. The cone is shaped to offer minimum aerodynamic resistance. Nose cones are also designed for travel in and under water and in high-speed land vehiclesGiven the problem of the aerodynamic design of the nose cone section of any vehicle or body meant to travel through a compressible fluid medium (such as a rocket or aircraft missile or bullet), an important problem is the determination of the nose conegeometrical shape for optimum performance. For many applications, such a task requires the definition of a solid of revolutionshape that experiences minimal resistance to rapid motion through such a fluid medium, which consists of elastic particles This project evaluates missile nose cone is analysis using the materials are Titanium Ti-6Al-4V most commonly used alloy. Titanium ti -6al-6v-2sn, titanium grade 1 the remainder titanium. These are significantly stronger than commercially pure titanium. While having the same stiffness and thermal properties a structural-loaded, a pressure sudden impact loads and a foam nose-cone concept Results from analysis of the nose cone are used in structural analysis performed with ANSYS. A naval model is designed for from the concepts of blunt nose cone and analyzed with the commercial software catia. The nose concept conforms to the requirements for structural integrity, weight, functionality.

It is to a large extent due to the difficulty of measuring the dynamic behavior of cracks, debones and delamination’s inside the material, there should exists a need to simulate the action of different mechanisms in order to understand the basic physics and possibly identifying the signatures of measured vibration and acoustic signals. In this work we study vibrational responses from a specimen which has different types of non-linearity’s like fractures in it at different locations and understand various factors concerned with fracture location, fracture behavior and so on.

    Centrifugal pumps are used to transport liquids/fluids by the conversion of the rotational kinetic energy to the hydro dynamics energy of the liquid flow. The rotational energy typically comes from an engine or electric motor or turbine. In the typical simple case, the fluid enters the pump impeller along or near to the rotating axis and is accelerated by the impeller, flowing radially outward into a diffuser or volute chamber (casing), from where it exits. The Contemporary impeller blades in Centrifugal pumps are used in industrial applications are made up of Aluminium or Steel. It is proposed to design a centrifugal pump using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software with various metal alloys and NonMetallic composite materials, analyze its strength and deformation using simulation software. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of Metal Alloys and NonMetallic composites. The present work aim is to change the material and performing the different analysis like Static, Dynamic, Analysis to find the best material to decrease the weight and increase its efficiency by using the software SOLID WORKS (2014 Premium Version). This also involves the method of manufacturing process to realize the Blower using Non-Metallic composite material.

And vibration frequencies effecting on blades including environmental effects consideration, in this project find the structural stresses of blades and vibrational frequencies, this analysing using the ansys software. Analysis using the Kevlar 49, carbon epoxy and advanced composite carbon fibber materials because of this material are light weight and high strength, good resistance materials. Design with the help of catia v5 software.

    The main objective behind undertaking the project “Analysis of Brake Drum Rotor” is to study and evaluate the performance of Brake Drum under severe braking conditions and thereby assisting in Brake Drum rotor design and analysis. ANSYS 11.0 is a dedicated general purpose Finite Element package used for determining the temperature, stress and strains. ANSYS11.0 is a flexible and cost effective tool. ANSYS11.0 is used in industries in order to solve several mechanical problems. In this project, an Axis-Symmetric Brake Drum rotor is considered for analysis. Flange width of 8mm, 10mm and 12mm made of Cast Iron, Aluminum and Aluminum composite are considered. A Coupled Field Analysis (Transient Thermal Analysis and Structural Analysis) is performed to obtain the Temperature Distribution and Von Mises Stress. After the Coupled field analysis is Performed, a graph is plotted between the distance and temperature. An attempt is Made to suggest the best combination of material and flange Width for Brake Drum rotor, which yields a low temperature variation across the rotor disc and minimum von mises stress possible.

These controllers are having features like inbuilt memories, Timers, Serial control bus etc., but not real time features. To introduce real time features and make fast the serial communication interface among memories the proposed design introduced. The proposed work is the best solution for cost reduction by using low end microcontrollers where high end microcontrollers used.

The two methods use 8051 microcontrollers for control applications separately. Now a new design is proposed that a single microcontroller is interfaced to both ADC & DAC at an instance. It is helpful to many mechanical control applications like refrigeration and air-conditioning. As an example working model for air conditioner is explained.

    This concept deals with the effect of twisted tape inserts as Passive Heat transfer augmentation device. Effect twisted tape (TT), on heat transfer and friction factor for heating of water for Reynolds number range 2500-30000, was studied experimentally in a double pipe counter flow heat exchanger. One tape of different twist ratio (yw=3.69, yw=4.39, yw=5.25) for Twisted tape (TT), were used. Based on constant flow rate, the heat transfer coefficient was found to be 1.18-3.66, times the smooth tube values for Twisted tape (TT), respectively. The nusselt number values were found to be 3.23-5.96 times the smooth tube values for Twisted tape (TT), respectively. Based on constant pumping power, the heat transfer coefficient values were found to be 0.88-1.62, times the smooth tube values for Twisted tape (TT), respectively. Based on the increase in Heat transfer coefficient, Performance evaluation criteria R1 & R3, it was concluded that twisted tape performs much better than the smooth tube.

    An experimental study was carried out this article expresses and provides an overview on the factors affected to known cause of failure of the tube and pipe materials. The limitations of material are crucial during the selection for a specific application. This paper helps to identify the factors that need to be considered when selecting a material. Properties compared in this article include corrosion resistance, stress corrosion cracking potential, thermal and mechanical properties, erosion resistance, vibration potential, and temperature limitations. The comparison guides are intended to be quick tools to assist the user in selecting a cost-effective material for a specific application. From the above important consideration, even though the material cost may be slightly higher side but the system will run in long life. So we need the materials selection process in such a manner that the property of the material will be withstand as much as for the above said requirements and also consider other financial aspects. This article is intend to prepared in such a way that to consider all comparable elements and try to give a solution for the tube selection of condenser tube for Nuclear Power Plants as well as Thermal Power Plants.
